Random Update #1

Life has picked up in the past couple of weeks.  Gone are the days of going to bed at 9pm because we didn’t have anything else to do!  We joined a small group recently and are starting to get to know people at church (even hung out w/ the senior pastor last Friday…!).  School life is getting busier (coaching the 3rd grade lego team, attending meetings, subbing), and Eric’s work is also quite interesting & keeping him busy.  I’m trying to get back into exercising, though it feels like square one after not running for 2 months.. sigh.. so flabby!  But there’s hope… someone in our small group is a professional trainer/bodybuilder, so I’m hoping I can work out with her eventually!  We’ve also taken on a new Sunday pastime after marriage class and church… that is, checking out open houses.  It’s pretty crazy how expensive real estate is in Hawaii.  I don’t know how we’ll afford it except by trusting God to provide.  And of course, hanging out with my parents is still the best… just last Saturday, my mom and I were window shopping when I came across a beautiful necklace that was exactly what I was looking for (you know, for my teacher’s wardrobe)… it was perfect except for the price!  Mom must’ve seen the twinkle in my eye or something, cause whereas I would’ve taken a deep breath and slowly walked away, she suggested we split the cost and share the necklace… how sweet!  Thank you MOM!!  Shopping with her is so vastly different from shopping with Eric… for one, he would never share a necklace with me… but secondly, he’d probably be the one holding my hand as we backed away slowly.  In fact, at one point Eric came into the store (he and my dad were waiting outside) and my mom shouted “Eric! Go away!”  Haha!

Anyway, that’s a quick snippet of our life here in the islands… love & thank you to our friends who read & comment & pray for us!  We are truly blessed.

New York, I Love You

I really, really want to watch this.  Yet it’s not playing in Hawaii, BOOOO!

Halloween 2009

IMG_9622We didn’t get around to our annual pumpkin carving contest : (, but this year we went to a costume party with home-made costumes!  I happily give Eric 100% of the credit for coming up with the idea.  I had my doubts, but in the end it was a hit!  So much so that random people at the party took photos and even video footage of us… ummm yeah.  Okay.  Anyway, in case you can’t tell what we are (or if you’re not from Hawaii), here is a hint.  YUMMY!
