Hello, World

It’s been so long I nearly forgot my password.  But alas, here I am… still alive!  March was a very eventful month for us… details later.  For now, here is our latest hike: Makapuu Lighthouse. IMG_5975LighthouseAnd a couple munchkins!  They are too cute. =)IMG_6007

Kaiwa Ridge Trail

Awesome trail this past weekend. Sunrise hike #3, so far so good!  Minimal editing on pics, no time these days. =(Kaiwa Trail

Resolutions, Etc.

I start teaching next week. (Read: Goodbye, free time. Goodbye, blog updates. Hello, grading!)  I am excited. (Read: I am nervous.)  I figure I’d better get any random thoughts off my chest now, before lesson plans and homework take over my life!

On New Years Resolutions: ours are simple this year.  1) Sleep earlier.  2) Go hiking at sunrise at least twice per month (every weekend if possible). 3) Love more.  4) Pray more. And 5) for me: Accessorize more.  So far so good with #2… last Saturday we hiked Koko Head Crater, which was a monster of a climb… 1000+ steps to get 1200 feet above sea level!  It was torture, but in retrospect, it was fun.  Google it, or better yet, google map it!  It’s crazy.

On Hawaiian Wedding Photos: just a few pics of our friends Janice & Todd, who actually got married last May in Chicago, but slipped into their wedding attire once more for an at-home reception over the holidays.  Of course we had to go take a few pics of them under the beautiful Hawaiian sun!  Love the dramatic silhouettes!janicetodd

On Family: last Saturday, we went to lunch with my grandma & many cousins.  Following lunch, my hello-kitty-wearing-cousin and I watched The Princess and the Frog, while the boys watched Avatar. It’s been ages since I watched a Disney movie on the big screen, and it was so refreshing!  cousins

Not in much of a writing mood, but I do want to jot this down so I don’t forget… “live in the tension”… a phrase from Sunday’s sermon that resonated with me and I’ve been thinking a lot about ever since.  Maybe I’ll blog about it one day…
