A beautiful day in the ballpark

Howdy friends!  It’s time that the eric half of totallyjeneric writes his first post.  Yes, you are reading this correctly!  Jen gave me an excellent tutorial on how to create a post.  What a fabulous wife I have!

The sun was beaming brilliantly, the sausage and crab fries were a tasty ballpark treat, and during the entire game, the fans were struggling to catch the foul balls.  Sitting in the Diamond Club was a neat experience, despite watching our 2008 World Series Champions lose to the Brewers 6-1 on Thursday afternoon in Citizens Bank Park.

Cole Hamels got pelted by a line drive in the fourth inning and left the game.

The Phillies Phanatic was having a ball with all the fans.

And of course, I had to get a picture of the Flyin Hawaiian, Shane Victorino.  I should have brought some Spam musubi.

In addition to being in the middle of all the action, I had some great photo ops!

All in a day’s work, I suppose.

Aloha,

Eric

We’re BACK

AND SO ARE THE PHILLIES!!!! After 28 years of starving for attention in the world of sports, this humble little city has FINALLY won the world series!!!  HOORAYYYY!!!!
Goodness, what has happened to me???

Go Phillies!

Eric: Want to take a walk?
Jen: No, I want to blog.
Eric: You’d rather blog than take a walk with your husband?? … Don’t answer that.

Sooooo… I’m not that into baseball, but the Phillies are ONE game away from the World Series.  The first and last time they won the World Series was in 1980, and per Wikipedia, they have lost the most games of any team in the history of Major League Baseball.  How sad!!  So our fingers are crossed that this will be THE year, and if it is, here is proof that we were among the crowds cheering for them.  And to my pleasant surprise, it wasn’t all that bad.  I actually kinda enjoyed it!

This past weekend my not-so-little little brother came to visit, and as if lounging on our couch watching tv and sipping lemonade weren’t enough of a retreat from his busy college schedule, we headed to a nearby park to be one with nature. And by one, I mean skipping rocks, bugs in our faces, marveling at geese formations and running around a lake type of oneness.  It was wonderful!  Maybe I’ll post more pictures later… Eric caught some amazing shots. For now, this will have to suffice.

Happy Tuesday!
