Guess where we went last weekend! A big big congrats to our friends who just tied the knot and are now honeymooning in Kauai! What a sweet couple & perfect day.The majority of our time was spent prepping for and celebrating at the wedding, but we managed to squeeze in some other highlights too… for instance, Eric was very happy to try his first IN & OUT burger!! We give it 2 thumbs up!! Mmm… so tasty. (Californians are probably rolling their eyes at us, fueling the hype ) The following morning, between the wedding rehearsal and bridal shower, we took a quick drive out to Santa Cruz and love love loved the coastline and boardwalk. If I lived nearby, I’d be jogging there every day (or at least riding rides with a season pass). Isn’t it beautiful? Finally, on our last day in SF, we biked across the Golden Gate Bridge. Sounds cool, fun, romantic, etc, etc, right? Yeah whatever. We were tired and grumpy the whole way because it was much harder than we anticipated! The bridge was nice, but the ride up from Fisherman’s Wharf to the bridge (i.e. climbing hills) was not fun at all. Plus, we were rushed to make it to Sausalito before the last ferry departed (we ended up seeing Sausalito for all of 10 seconds), and we biked in traffic with cars zipping by at 45mph. A little scary! Anyway, you can see our expressions shift as the ride progresses. So the moral of the story is 1) in & out is yummy 2) santa cruz is awesome 3) biking the bridge is nice in concept, not so much in reality. Haha, oh well.

Sunday after the wedding, we wandered around the Art Institute of Chicago and admired the works of Seurat, Monet, Cassatt and the like. We explored the Modern Wing, peered into miniature rooms and marveled at a collection of paperweights. Of all the pieces on display, though, none compare to the piece of art that is my husband (and Allen) (and his sock). How I ever became so fortunate to marry this boy, I do not know.
